ICON-LA-International Landscape Architecture Conference in St. Petersburg is dedicated to problems of creating a comfortable urban environment. The conference will discuss a range of questions, such as the importance of applying the principles of ecological design, climate change and the associated risks to green spaces. The purpose of this conference is to answer the question – what is the vision of the urban comfortable environment in the early 21st century and what urban, architectural, sociological and environmental principles are used in different countries?
We invite international and Russian architects, landscape architects, horticulturists, academics and city administrations to share their experiences and new solutions. Our conference is the 14th in a series of successful international conferences ICON-LA held in St. Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia.
This conference is planned within the framework of the First St. Petersburg Landscape Forum, which will be attended by outstanding landscape architects and representatives of government and landscape business. Forum organizers: The Government of St. Petersburg, the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia, the St. Petersburg Union of Architects. During the Forum, an exhibition of works by Russian architects, designers and landscape architects will be organized. The exhibition “Landscape-space for life” will be held in the Peter and Paul Fortress.

ICON-LA 2020 is fully paid for by the conference organizer. There is no conference fee.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts related to the main topic of the conference.
🔴 Preparation of Abstracts
Abstracts are required for all presentations, including posters. Each abstract should comprise three parts: Title, Authors (including name of organisation, mailing address and email) and abstract text (maximum 500 words, Times New Roman, 12 pt, left-adjusted, 1,5 line spacing).
👉 The deadline for abstract submission has been postponed to 20th of March 2020.
Conference proceedings based on abstracts (which will go through a double-blind peer-review process) will be published in English and Russian in the time of conference.

🔴 Excursions and cultural programme:
Visits to city’s historic landscapes will be offered as an additional activity of the conference. The conference will provide the guide. Participants will have to cover a transportation (public transport) and lunch.
An optional pre-conference sightseeing tour of St. Petersburg (e.g. the Hermitage and Russian Museum, other museums, historic parks and the famous palace park complexes of Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo, Pavlovsk, Oranienbaum and Gatchina) will be available and can be booked by our partner.
